Adi joined McKinsey in 2003 and leads McKinsey’s global work in Reinvesting in Economies, which includes the firm’s work in infrastructure, economic development, public finance, and public benefits programs. He also leads McKinsey’s Federal Civilian Practice and founded and leads McKinsey’s Reinvesting in America Initiative.
He advises CEOs, federal leaders, governors, and other senior public and private sector leaders on a range of issues including strategy, operations, organizational effectiveness, innovation, and transformation.
Throughout his career, he has provided thought leadership on economic development and healthcare. He has several years of public service, including advising presidential transition teams and serving multiple senior advisory roles in the White House starting in 2008 and in 2020. In those positions, he oversaw budget and operations plans, as well as the implementation of landmark economic and healthcare initiatives.
In 2018 he founded and led McKinsey’s Government Transitions Initiative, a nonpartisan program provides insights to help state and federal leaders as they take office set up effective teams, tackle their highest priorities, and improve the lives of their constituents. He has also previously led McKinsey’s work healthcare performance transparency and payment innovation and is a deep expert in the area of designing and implementing innovative value-based payment models in healthcare.
In 2020-21, Adi led McKinsey’s COVID-19 response in the public sector, which included supporting leaders and public servants as they navigated the pandemic with management and organizational expertise, and analytical capabilities to help inform their decisions.
Adi is a graduate of both Georgetown University and Stanford University Graduate School of Business. In addition, he serves on the board of directors of the Humane Society of the United States and as adjunct faculty at Georgetown University.
