Alvaro Cubria joined the Firm in 2008 in the Madrid office and is now based in the Mexico office. He has worked extensively across America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

He is part of the Financial Services Practice in Latin America, where he leads our work for retail banking in Mexico. He also leads the Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice in Mexico and is an active member of the Digital and Analytics Practice. Beyond financial services, he brings his functional expertise to other business-to-consumer industries (such as telecommunications).

Outside McKinsey, he has worked as a financial advisor at the private wealth management division of Morgan Stanley in Spain and as advisor to the Ministry of Economy of Georgia.

Alvaro enjoys traveling and sports. He was a champion on Spain's under-16 national football league.
