André is a senior partner emeritus in the firm’s Korea office, where he advises leading companies across a broad range of strategic, operational, and organizational topics, and also mentors senior colleagues across Asia.
In his 34-year McKinsey career, André was a member of the firm’s leadership teams in Europe, the United States, and Asia—most recently serving as managing partner of McKinsey Korea—advising clients across the firm’s Semiconductors, Industrials & Electronics, Automotive & Assembly, and Aerospace & Defense Practices, as well as out work in the biotechnology industry. He also served multiple terms on the Shareholders Council, the firm’s global governance board.
During his five-year tenure as a managing partner in McKinsey Japan, André helped grow the office significantly. He more than doubled the client portfolio and the number of employees. Prior to working in Japan, he led the firm’s advanced industries work globally.
André has held extensive additional senior leadership roles in support of the firm’s growth, its people, and overall knowledge development. He led numerous learning programs to develop the capabilities of senior clients and partners to become effective leaders. For example, he supports the development of new CEOs in his role as co-dean of McKinsey’s Bower Forum.
André is passionate about supporting the economic development of countries and nations in different capacities and advises on innovation.
