Ashwin leads McKinsey’s Sustainability Insights team in Asia and works with a diverse range of clients to address their sustainability and decarbonization ambitions.

Passionate about navigating the energy and climate challenge, Ashwin has extensive experience in management consulting, investment portfolio advisory, business development, supply chain management, operations management, digital and advanced analytics, and project management.

Since joining the firm in 2012, he has led large, multiyear transformation programs for regional energy and industrial clients. Examples of Ashwin’s client work include:

  • leading an advanced-analytics-based decarbonization transformation for a fossil power generator
  • accelerating a giga-scale, multiyear renewables deployment strategy for a state-owned utility
  • shaping innovative transactions to accelerate investment in power sector decarbonization, collaborating with financial regulators, institutions, project developers, and utilities
  • developing a green energy business roadmap for an oil and gas company, focusing on renewables, hydrogen, and electric vehicles
  • designing the blueprint for emerging green business models for a traditional auto OEM
  • establishing a sustainability academy for the capability building of a large energy company

Outside of work, Ashwin enjoys collecting and reading books, pencil sketching, and learning languages.
