Aziz, a partner in McKinsey’s New York office, is a key member of our North American data architecture and engineering organization and serves as a leader of the consumer data unit. He has helped design and develop big data solutions for clients globally and led large-scale data and analytics transformation programs, including gen AI solutions.
Aziz has advised multiple CDOs and chief information officers (CIOs) across sectors on generating value from big data by leveraging data architecture, data modeling, master data management (MDM), and data governance. He helps build solutions on modern big data platforms, massively parallel processing (MPP) databases, real-time data, gen AI, and cloud technologies.
Examples of his recent work include the following:
- building a next-gen revenue growth management (RGM) solution for a large global CPG client to provide strategic pricing and promotions analytics, delivered in a build, operate, and transfer (BOT) construct
- implementing gen AI-enabled data classification and quality control solutions for a global data provider and embedding gen AI capabilities in the reference data architecture to enable gen AI use cases
- leading a data and analytics program for a leading revenue fuel retailer and delivering data strategy, data architecture, automated data quality (DQ), and machine learning operations (MLOps)
- developing a future state of an MDM solution and building a four-dimension framework to drive a holistic impact, including architecture, data model, operations model, and governance, for a North American bank
- designing a modern big data architecture for a large North American bank, including a customer 360 model, MDM, data governance, funding model, and a multiyear roadmap to build the data foundation and deliver use cases
- helping prepare a data-lake-enabled advanced analytics platform for a large Latin American bank through a series of hands-on proofs of concept (POCs) and designing a custom enterprise data model
Before McKinsey, Aziz worked as a construction engineer and taught at M.H. Saboo Siddik Polytechnic, Mumbai, India. He is fluent in English, Urdu, and Hindi. In his spare time, he enjoys light music, Ghazal (lyric poem genre) is his favorite.
