Benjamim is a leading partner in McKinsey Digital based both in Lisbon and Madrid. He leads the firm’s work in IT enterprise architecture in the Iberia office. Since joining McKinsey in 2005, he has worked with companies from different sectors—including telecommunications, utilities, airlines, financial institutions, and insurance—in several IT and technology modernization, digital transformation, and IT operating-model optimization topics.

In IT and tech modernization, Benjamim has supported several companies around the globe to design and implement the new core IT architecture roadmaps, deploy new modern API platforms, and IT security strategies, addressing performance improvement challenges ranging from operations, through technology, to customer experience perspective.

On digital transformations, Benjamim has helped several companies implement an end-to-end new digital operating model and an agile-at-scale organization, prioritizing key value opportunities arising from digital and analytics and setting up the organization, governance, and processes necessary to capture the opportunities and improve time-to-market.

On IT operating-model optimization, he has supported several clients in implementing new IT strategies and cost-reduction programs, including the renegotiation of infrastructure contracts and licensing providers, optimization of IT portfolio, and improvement of development productivity.

Benjamim holds a degree in electrotechnical engineering—with a major in telecommunications and control systems—from the Technical University of Lisbon and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
