Carlo is a partner at QuantumBlack, the center of excellence for advanced analytics and machine learning for McKinsey. He serves clients across a variety of industries including banking, insurance, and telecom companies. He leads teams, building horizontal-and-vertical software assets to accelerate delivery and adoption of machine learning.
Carlo’s focus is to solve challenging problems through the use of advanced analytics and machine learning. Carlo works with organizations to define their analytics agenda, design and deliver scalable solutions, and unlock long-lasting business change. Carlo also works with organizations to help build their own machine-learning capabilities. These include scaling talent, technology platforms, and redefining delivery models and organizations.
Recent examples of Carlo’s work include the following:
- unlocking incremental growth for European banks through customer-propensity modeling, pricing-elasticity analysis, and personalized campaigns
- helping a global corporate bank identify changes to their coverage model through clustering-customer needs and analyzing drivers of front-line effectiveness
- applying natural-language processing to extract additional insights from latent data sources—like medical documents or onboarding notes—for financial service companies
- designing and deploying financial-crime analytics solutions for payment organizations
Prior to joining QuantumBlack in 2016, Carlo led strategy and digital transformation as part of McKinsey Digital, and worked as a software engineer building trajectory-prediction modules and near-real-time software for the air-traffic control industry.
