David has spent more than 20 years working with the management teams of leading healthcare organizations to address the triple aim of better health, better quality of care, and lower costs. He currently leads the firm’s healthcare innovation domain within the Healthcare Practice in North America, which addresses issues such as payment innovation, provider-network strategy and contracting, care management, and other medical cost-management initiatives.

David also coleads a specialized unit within McKinsey that blends actuarial, statistics, economics, and software programming to support healthcare innovation. Under his direction, the unit has developed and implemented proprietary advanced-analytics algorithms to support total-cost-of-care shared-savings models, episode-based payment models, risk stratification, network strategy and design, and provider performance reporting. His recent projects have included the design and implementation of healthcare innovations in Arkansas, Delaware, Massachusetts, and New York, among other markets.

While at Harvard, David completed significant graduate coursework in healthcare economics and public policy at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the John F. Kennedy School of Government.
