Eunjo is a core leader of McKinsey’s Asian Financial Services Practice, working with various financial institutions and principal investors across many Asian markets. He is also a core leader of McKinsey’s Growth, Marketing & Sales Practice in Asia, orchestrating potential partnership and alliances to bring in the most cutting-edge capabilities for our client services. His main focus is helping his clients’ top management redefine their strategies and steer their mind-sets toward “value-growth” opportunities.
His recent client engagements include the following:
- developing a global insurance group’s pan-Asia strategy for health insurance, one of the fastest growing and most profitable opportunities in the region, which includes Japan and five other Asian countries
- revisiting a global banking group’s Japan strategy, from a comprehensive market scanning to a deep dive into new wealth-management business strategies centered around the country’s growing mass-affluent segment
- supporting a leading Asian financial group’s post-merger value improvement by creating a new synergy scheme across subsidiaries, including banking, securities, asset management, and insurance
- supporting the new CEO transition of a leading insurance company in Japan, designing the first 100-day plan, along with the prioritized portfolio of new initiatives and quick-win actions
Eunjo has also spent three-and-a-half and seven years, respectively, at McKinsey’s New York and Seoul offices serving both global and local insurers, banks, capital-markets infrastructure, and regulatory authorities. He is also a core member of the firm’s Risk Management Practice, actively applying cutting-edge tools and ideas to enhance his clients’ resilience across financial and economic cycles.
He is a frequent speaker at various conferences sponsored by industry associations and media, and has authored a number of articles. In addition, Eunjo is a member of the Economic Development Advisory Committee of Seoul Metropolitan City, and he is the father of five children.
