Gustaw is a partner in McKinsey’s Warsaw office, the leader of our Electric Power & Natural Gas Practice and Oil & Gas Practice in Central Europe, and an expert in decarbonization. He supports energy companies with “brown-to-green” transitions and sustainable business building, as well as serving clients in the emerging hydrogen system. He has contributed to net-zero emission reports in Poland and the European power sector, and a study of the impact of AI on businesses in Poland.
In addition to his work on decarbonization, Gustaw advises companies in the energy industry on growth, portfolio strategy, operational transformation, and performance management. His recent client projects include the following:
- developing and delivering assets and products-decarbonization strategies and brown-to-green transformations for integrated energy companies, oil and gas, and petrochemical companies in Central, Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas, including biofuels and hydrogen
- supporting clients on new business and products development in energy-related advanced industries, including transmission and distribution equipment, power-network automation and software, offshore wind infrastructure and precise sensing
- leading transformations for operators of natural gas and electric-power distributor networks and downstream oil and gas assets along the entire value chain: asset management, regional and organizational restructuring, planning and scheduling digitally enabled field-workforce management, and operational improvements
Before joining McKinsey, Gustaw worked as a project manager at an internet company and as a tech entrepreneur. He graduated from Warsaw School of Economics with master’s degrees in management and in quantitative economics and information systems.
