Jae leads Global Energy & Materials practice in Korea, and advises leaders in energy industries as they pursue world-class operational performance. Focused on the energy, heavy industry, construction, oil, and chemical sectors, he helps CEOs and senior executives achieve long-term growth and transformation.

Since joining McKinsey, Jae has focused on supporting operational transformation. He has led numerous multi-year transformations for leading companies in energy and heavy industry sector to boost up their performance significantly. He also helps companies optimize their portfolio and set effective growth strategy, including pursing mergers and acquisitions. Jae has worked for industry-leading companies in Korea, US, Taiwan, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

  • transforming the operations of one of the largest energy companies in Korea
  • implementing a value-up strategy for multiple global electrical and power equipment companies
  • turning around engineering and construction company, where the work unlocked shareholder value through portfolio optimization and operation innovation

Jae is a sought-after speaker and writer and contributes expert perspectives to conferences and newspapers, such as the World Knowledge Forum and the JoongAng Ilbo. He also directed the Korean edition of No Ordinary Disruption, a McKinsey Global Institute book evaluating four forces colliding and transforming the global economy. Given his interest in economic trends and their effects, Jae has been invited to advise government agencies on their energy and infrastructure-related initiatives.
