Jayanti helps energy companies address the margin-eroding effects of inconsistent production efficiency and high operating costs. To unlock the full value of production assets, she brings core skills in upstream operations transformations and agile organization design. She also designs reliable solutions for reaching efficiency-improvement goals, and she is increasingly advising clients on how to make the most of opportunities emerging from the energy transition and the next wave of automation and digitization in the sector.
Since joining McKinsey in 2003, Jayanti has worked extensively on strategy development, organizational redesign, and operations transformations for energy companies. Most recently, working with our Petroleum Asset eXcellence team, she has led a number of business transformations for oil and gas majors and independents in Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe.
Examples of her recent client work include the following:
- redesigning a gas producer’s operating model to reflect the increasing need for modernization and the greater maturity of the resource base
- leading the performance turnaround of an international oil company in the North Sea through organizational redesign, production optimization, spend rationalization, and capital productivity
- optimizing the post-commissioning steady-state operating costs for an Asian megaproject
Keenly interested in strategic thinking, Jayanti has authored several articles on executive strategy setting and the nature and nuance of competitive dynamics. She has put this expertise to use by working with an oil industry association to transform performance, rolling out a digital platform for cross-industry cooperation on efficiency-related issues.
In 2013, Jayanti took a year-long leave of absence from McKinsey to restructure and run a family business.
