Based in Dubai, Jörg is a leader in our Public Sector practice in the Middle East and is part of the McKinsey Center for Government leadership team. His work focuses primarily on economic development, government transformation programs, and human-resources development for government clients in Europe and in the six countries that make up the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Jörg has led more than 100 economic-development projects in the Middle East. Examples of his work include helping a GCC country create a national competitiveness strategy and sector strategies for proposed special economic zones. This work included the development of feasibility studies, business cases, investor plans, and implementation approaches. Another recent project involved assisting a GCC country in defining a comprehensive socioeconomic vision and a five-year strategic plan; Jörg subsequently supported six ministries on implementation.
One of Jörg’s passions is helping the Middle East develop local human resources and improve labor-market regulations. He has supported several Middle Eastern governments in multiyear efforts to put in place employment programs and improved vocational training systems. He has also worked on immigration reform, advising the government on everything from initial design to IT implementation.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Jörg worked for the European Commission’s Merger Task Force in Brussels and for the Court of Appeals in Hamburg.
