Jurica joined McKinsey in 2006 and has helped establish our presence in Eastern Europe, including offices in Zagreb, Croatia, and Bucharest, Romania. He has deep expertise on financial issues, strategy development, risk-management approaches, and turnaround programs for banks, private-equity firms, and consumer-goods companies across Central and Eastern Europe. He is also a member of the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) Council, which advises on MGI research on global economic, business, and technology trends.
In recent months, he developed and implemented a corporate-credit-process redesign for a top CEE bank. Jurica also designed a new risk-management framework for a leading bank in Russia, and a strategy and business plan for a major Croatian company ahead of that county’s accession to the European Union. Other recent work focused on developing balance-sheet-protection measures for exposure to investments in Eastern Europe for a top Western European banking player, and development of strategy for a regional private-equity firm targeting investments in the Far East.
In addition to his strategic and operational work, Jurica has also played a leading role in several recent due-diligence studies in the consumer-goods and banking sectors, including a review of a top-five regional food retailer, and a review of a major regional bank.
