Jussi’s mission is to serve organizations that provide, invest in, and regulate services and assets that have both financial and social value. Following this mission, he brings more than 15 years of experience and leadership to McKinsey’s Travel, Transport & Logistics, Electric Power & Natural Gas, and Private Equity & Principal Investors Practices and our work in education.
As an advisor to executives and leaders, Jussi works with leading companies and public-sector entities in helping them create social and financial value. In his work across Northern Europe and the Middle East, he has supported rail and postal companies, healthcare providers, energy companies and utilities, educational institutions, and governmental agencies. The types of projects he has led have ranged from corporate and regulatory strategies to organization and operations development and extensive turnaround programs.
Jussi also offers support to private and public investors looking to acquire, develop, or divest assets in his sectors of experience. He works with investor clients in leading investment strategies, due diligences, strategic reviews, and exit-support engagements.
Examples of his work include the following:
- supporting strategy work for travel, logistics, energy, and infrastructure clients on topics including corporate strategy, M&A, new-growth businesses, digital opportunities, and specific topics such as end to end for travel companies
- leading several operational model redesigns, turnarounds of distressed assets, and organizational performance transformations for large industrial clients to capture efficiencies and cost savings
- supporting public- and private-education entities, from K–12 networks to publishers, on a broad portfolio of challenges with focus on education outcomes, new growth, and digital opportunities
- leading several investment strategies, due diligences, strategic reviews, and exit-support engagements
Jussi previously worked as a management consultant in the Middle East, where he specialized in education and state-owned enterprises, and also spent several years advising Finnish government entities. In his leisure time, Jussi enjoys sports and also volunteers as a member of Finnish army reserve.
