Matthieu is a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company. Based in London he is a leader of our Global Banking practice, where he serves as the co-leader of our global Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) practice. He is also a Board member of Vivid Economics, a strategic economics consultancy with broad sustainability and macroeconomic capabilities acquired by McKinsey in 2021.
He is a world-recognized expert in capital markets, corporate and investment banking, as well as banking strategy and transformation, has authored multiple papers on the industry, is a co-founder of the McKinsey Capital Markets Roundtable, interacts frequently with regulators and is a regular speaker at industry events.
Since joining McKinsey in 2001, Matthieu has served banks and other financial institutions on a wide range of business, operational and functional issues. He partners closely with his clients to deliver growth and bottom-line impact by counselling senior executives and leveraging his deep understanding of how to drive change. He has architected multiple transformations, with both banks and capital markets infrastructure companies.
In addition to deep experience in banking and capital markets transformation, his expertise includes growth and business strategy, business building, digital and analytics, functional transformation (Risk, Compliance, IT and Ops, Finance, HR) as well as cost and productivity. He also has deep experience working with major international regulators.
In addition to his 21 years of consulting experience, he has operational experience from both McKinsey and previously in the banking sector.
