Mithun is a leader within McKinsey’s work in the advanced industries sector. Mithun is especially focused on helping clients with transformations of their products driven by digital and analytics by bringing together integrated teams of domain experts, design, analytics, culture, and capability building to rapidly achieve sustainable impact.

Examples of Mithun’s recent client work include the following:

  • leading an end-to-end performance transformation for a mid-size industrial solutions company
  • developing an approach based on advanced analytics to transform the engineering and R&D capabilities at multiple clients, including a leading enterprise software company, an aerospace and defense contractor, and a semi-conductor OEM
  • supporting a large defense company through an end-to-end EBITDA transformation, from merger integration support, to changing of business model, operating-cost structure, and post-merger synergy capture
  • building a blueprint for an agile transformation led by customer experience for a major telecom provider

Prior to joining McKinsey, Mithun worked for a large multi-industry company, where he began his career as an analytics and simulation expert in product systems engineering before taking on several roles in engineering, manufacturing, technical sales, and aftermarket. He was involved in the launch of several renewable energy products, including fuel cells for automotive and industrial HVAC applications. Mithun has two advanced degrees in engineering and three US patents.
