Ramnath works extensively with domestic and global life insurers, insurance brokers, private-equity sponsors, and their portfolio companies on a range of topics including strategy, growth, investment thesis, enterprise value creation, M&A, digital and analytics.
Ramnath leads McKinsey's work in life insurance and retirement in North America. He has led the build out of the global private-equity insurance domain to support private-equity sponsors in creating value in the broader insurance ecosystem including permanent capital-based models. He also helped establish and scale McKinsey's insurance risk and actuarial capabilities to serve insurers on capital- and balance-sheet-driven value creation.
Ramnath speaks regularly on the topics of insurance and private equity at various conferences and forums, and also cohosts McKinsey’s annual roundtable for North American life and retirement company CEOs.
Ramnath received his MBA from IIMA (Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad), and was awarded the president’s gold medal. He originally joined McKinsey’s Mumbai office where he led the insurance sector work and has been based in New York for several years.
