Raphael is a partner at McKinsey and leader in the firm’s capital excellence work. He coleads our work in capital-excellence initiatives for advanced industries in North America and serves clients along the automotive value chain from metals and Tier-N suppliers to OEMs. Furthermore, he leads our battery work in North America and is part of the global leadership team.
He focuses on production strategy and holistic transformations and turnarounds.
He brings his experience on the transition toward e-mobility by focusing on strategic, industrialization, and operations-related challenges, especially the industrialization of battery-manufacturing capacity and industrializing new battery electric-vehicle platforms, which are the core of his knowledge. He helps to develop our firm's point of view on key challenges in mastering e-mobility.
Furthermore, Raphael helps his clients in designing, orchestrating, and implementing holistic performance transformations, such as those that increase output and debottleneck processes, reduce cost, or stabilize delivery performance.
In his research for work and his doctoral degree work, Raphael focused on digital-process innovations in production systems, the implications on large organizations, and the capabilities required to successfully implement these innovations at scale. He holds a master's degree in aeronautical engineering and business administration, and a bachelor's degree on mechanical engineering and business administration.
