Roberto leads our Capital Excellence Practice for Latin America. He serves clients in Europe, Latin America, and North America on a broad range of topics, including portfolio strategy, corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, organization, and corporate governance. He has worked in both our New York and Sao Paulo offices.
His recent client experience includes supporting the development of the investment strategy and organizational model for an investment vehicle capturing opportunities in the Latin American infrastructure sector, with its shareholders aspiring to transform this vehicle into the largest investor in the capital-hungry Latin American infrastructure industry.
His experience with corporate strategy and corporate finance includes the development of portfolio strategy for a diversified Mexican engineering and construction company, followed by the review of its capital-market positioning (given the then large discount to “perceived” sum-of-parts valuation).
Roberto also brings extensive experience in basic materials. He has helped clients define strategic priorities and execute the associated investment pipelines across several segments of the mining industry, such as copper, gold, zinc and nickel.
Before joining McKinsey in 1996, Roberto worked with Bear Stearns in the mergers and acquisitions department and with Banco BBA Creditanstalt as a fixed-income trader.
