Samir has 25 years of experience leading, coaching, and developing diverse teams on large complex procurement transformation programs, from strategy through execution. He has served global and US clients across many industries, focusing on driving tangible and sustainable impact in these organizations.

Examples of Samir’s recent client experience include the following:

  • designing and implementing a 3-year supply-chain vision and road map for a major pipeline company, delivering $100 million savings through category management, inventory optimization, master-data management, organizational design, source-to-pay process improvements, and technology enablement
  • leading a maturity assessment of a major investor-owned utility’s indirect procurement function to identify a portfolio of quick wins, short- and long-term improvement initiatives, and the underlying business case
  • supporting a spend diagnostic, business-case development, and program execution for a major Midwest utility, including investment recovery, inventory burndown, and sourcing of equipment (such as rental; fleet; maintenance, repair, and operations; telecom; facilities; and dust control)
  • architecting and delivering a peer-to-peer transformation program at the downstream division of a supermajor, including strategy, business-case, design, and deployment of the future-state organization, process, tools, data, and metrics
  • designing and deploying a leading contract-management process at a petroleum-refining and fertilizer-manufacturing company, including contract collection, classification, and migration to a common repository

Prior to joining McKinsey, Samir served as KPMG’s procurement advisory practice leader in the Americas and served on the board of the Sourcing Interest Group.
