Michael leads McKinsey Digital in Taiwan. He works with high-tech and consumer electronics companies to help them orchestrate at-scale digital transformations and build new businesses outside their core. He focuses on digital and core tech topics, leading CIO conversations on tech modernization, codifying and building use cases to enable impact, and setting up digital delivery teams with new capabilities. He has served as a core member of McKinsey Digital for more than a decade and is also the leader of McKinsey Technology in Greater China, the firm’s core technology practice.
Examples of his recent client work include the following:
- led a multiyear digital transformation program for a global consumer electronics supplier to boost operating profit by designing and delivering digital use cases that enable business impact, and identifying new adjacent businesses to grow top-line revenue
- upgraded the digital operating model and technical foundations of a global Chinese PC and mobile device manufacturer by redefining development practices, master data management, and front-end tools to allow near real-time data availability and improved accuracy
- designed the B2B/B2C route-to-market in China and growth strategy for a multinational software and internet company, including channel partner structure, incentives, and account-level sales planning
Prior to his work with McKinsey, Michael launched the China operations for a German furniture start-up with online shops across eCommerce platforms and 3 offline stores in Shanghai as its deputy general manager and chief marketing officer, overseeing a team of more than 40 colleagues.
Michael is fluent in English and Chinese. Outside his client work, he is an avid boxer and swimmer, and enjoys spending time traveling with his two sons.
